Skin concern

Acne

Calmer, clearer-looking skin starts with consistent care.

About this concern

What's actually happening

Acne forms when pores clog with oil and dead skin and bacteria multiply, leading to blackheads, whiteheads, and inflamed bumps. Hormones, genetics, products, and everyday habits all play a role.

Picking and over-scrubbing usually make things worse and can leave dark marks or scars — so gentleness matters more than intensity. At Andersen Esthetics, we treat breakout-prone skin with a light, calming touch. The goal is healthy, comfortable skin you feel good in — not a quick fix that leaves it irritated.

The Andersen approach

Our acne-supportive facials are relaxing sessions that gently decongest and soothe. Depending on your skin, we may suggest:

  • Oxygen RX Treatment — a calming, oxygenating facial for congested, breakout-prone skin.
  • Alpha-Beta Peel — gentle exfoliation to refine the look of congested skin.
  • Transform Facial — a deep-cleansing, balancing treatment.

We extract conservatively — no aggressive squeezing that traumatizes skin — because protecting your skin prevents marks and scarring.

At-home essentials

  • Use a gentle cleanser and don't over-wash (twice a day is plenty).
  • Look for proven ingredients: benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, or an over-the-counter retinoid (adapalene).
  • Always use a non-comedogenic moisturizer and daily SPF.
  • Keep your hands off, and give any new product six to eight weeks to work.
